On September 7, 2008, she opened the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards with a live performance of the song. The song received a nomination for "Best Dance Recording" for the 51st Grammy Awards, but lost to electronica duo Daft Punk for their song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Alive 2007)".
